I just got 2 doz #3 bridger coil springs, 1/2 doz were offsets. Front foot or rear foot with the offsets for beaver.

Won't matter much. Use a lot of pan tension so you get a lot of foot.

I use aprox 4llb of pan tension. The traps cost nothing (giftcard) . I was not sure about the front foot with the offset jaws. Thanks for the info

You got a gift card that specified you buy offset traps?

Truth is, you are going to have more trouble with losses on the back foot. Sometimes because of the beaver's big back foot, the trap only grabs a couple of toes. I drown a lot of them like that, but they would be liable to pull out of an offset.

If the offsets did not work for front foot catches, I would have rubber jawed them and used them for yotes.Gift card was about to exspire, left 15 cents on card. I wanted all regular jaws but that was all they had, so i bought the offsets too.

That makes sense. You could pad them for dry land. They would make a pretty good coyote trap. -- Hal
