In the past ten days, I've put out multiple sets w/750s using 4 different tried and true lures, from castor-based to curiosity. Beaver swims by all. The other day when I was out in the boat, he actually circled me several times and I started to hear the Jaws theme....

The shoreline is covered with overhanging tree branches and I'm still searching for a slide and/or den opening. Very few chewed sticks, but they see him almost every night or morning.

I'm not sure what to try next and would appreciate any new ideas to outsmart this guy.

Thanks!

.22 mag!

Patience with the lured sets might also work.

Or practice your trade and make your own slide. Better yet make two, a couple dozen yards apart. Make them big and obvious. Slicker them up nice and shiny. Put a mud pie on the top of one, and a nice white peeled poplar stick on the other. Clear some of them overhanging branches away so the slides are well seen. Guard both slides with 330 body grips. Make your trimmed branches look like they fell to create pinch points into your traps. Probably labor mid day when he's dozing. And if this doesn't work, at least you'll have had fun trying. grin

Can't shoot it, it's in a subdivision.

But I can make slides! Didn't think about that -- thanks for the details, I'll try it!!
