I remember reading somewhere that after you make a set for predators , your scent lingers in the area long after you've left. I try to be scent free as much as possible when I make my sets. I wear rubber boots , gloves and scent free clothing. I was thinking about using a "Earth Scent Wafer" pinned to my coat in the hope that it would disguise any foreign odors I may leave behind. Am I being overly cautious or would this be a good idea ? I realize many animals are caught without going to these extremes , but I need all the advantages I can get. As usual , thanks in advance for any opinions or suggestions.

In my opinion, you are being overly cautious.

Your time would be way better spent scouting new locations.

You can't cover up "human scent" is just can't be done. I cringe at the number of deer hunters who are suckered into that mode.

That is 100% true. But the critters know you have left. If critters went into a fit every time they crossed old human scent, they would die of nervous prostration. Don't waste time worrying over it.
