Shoes and thongs (sorry, flip flops to you?) by the HUNDREDS in a small bush reserve next to the main river system in the capital city. They were brought up the hill from the river by foxes and scattered near the dens. All shapes and sizes, teeth marks and all, an amazing sight!

I found an old trapping stake that my dad used 20something years ago.

I found I wasn't in as great of shape as I thought I was. Getting straight A's has it's price.

I also met my girlfriend (she wasn't at the time).

The traps get checked a lot faster when she stay's home, but I can't complain.

I found what was left of a #4 double spring trap this past season. What makes this find special is the fact that my uncle was the last known person to trap that property. The landowner whois my cousin said my uncle was last in there in the late 70s or early 80s. Only family hunts and traps that land. I know #4s were one of his favorite beaver and otter traps along with the B&L 44.I dont know if an animal drug it off or he just misplaced it. It was in a big dead tree the wind had blwn down years ago. I was looking to make a set for a bobcat and was gathering some brush when I found it. That uncle was the one who got me started trapping, so it was special to me.

One year I was setting rat traps on a small creek and I set my bucket down on the bank right next to what looked like a coin. I stuck it in my pocket waited till I got home to clean it up. It turned out to be an 1864 2 cent bronze piece. I have no clue how it could have gotten there, but I searched that area further and found nothing else.

that coin was probably worth more than most people's fur checks.
