Personally, I'd advise you to clean up those traps, repair them where necessary, and get them ready for the next season. Rusting does a trap absolutely no good. I tend to all my traps in the spring. When they are cleaned and repaired, I either wax them or dip them, depending on the trap. They can then be stored for the off season, with no further deterioration of the trap. When trapping season rolls around again, I just grab them, clean the coating off the notches and triggers, and I'm ready to go.
