The storm on Friday loosened an old dead pine tree. A gust of wind yesterday finished it off. This is how close it came to the house.

Here's the tree. That's just the upper half. I couldn't get the whole thing in the photo.




Didn't miss by much.

It just ain't so. That's old "scrub" pine. If it had been burnable, I'd have cut it a while ago. It doesn't burn quite as well as cardboard. It is one of the very few woods that I won't cut for the stove. This one can oxidize back to nature in a wild corner of the pasture once I have it chopped into manageable lengths.
