More fur tail rats than birds.
They make a very tasty stew. Also are good bait for mud cats.

Do you have to wait until hunting season to get rid of them? With that many around, your seed must disappear very quickly.

What is the red bird?

Looks like a male - Red Cardinal to me. They are abundant in my area. The females are not Red ----- more of a grey with an "orangey colored" beak.

Are you feeding those squirrels, sun flower seeds?

I stretch a rope between two trees. At the midpoint, I hang an ear of corn down about a foot, from the main rope, like a pendulem. it is a scream to watch the squirrels walk the "tight rope" and try to get the corn. Makes for a lot of free laughter and fun.

If you note, there is a squirrel guard on that post. No I don't feed squirrels. They are pigs. These squirrels are picking up waste off the ground. Any squirrel caught in the birdfeeder is severely reprimanded.

Not necessarily. I'm pretty fussy about what squirrels I save for frying. Only the young, tender ones, primarily juveniles. Most of the mature adult squirrels go in the pressure cooker. And some few, which are overmature and cook up like an old shoe, go to the dogs for being faithful companions.

Oh geez, here we go again with the pressure cookers and squirrels of mass chewing! Your phone been tapped recently? Seriously, I too have a plethora of them tree rats chasing each other. But I feed them, if the birds don't get to the old bread first. Just kinda nice watching animals in the back yard as apposed to cars going by in the front. And since I can not 'severely reprimand' them here in the city, might just as well feed them.

Frank.
