Hello all, I have been given 100 ft of #3 machine chain. It has some type of coating on it, shiny as chrome but probable something more common, I don't know jack about coatings. Anyhow, do I need to remove it if possible before using it on traps? I recall reading somewhere that some types of coating give off an odor when they start to rust. Thanks, Richard

I wouldn't mess with it. It won't hurt anything. -- Hal

Do not use wire to tie off traps. You can use wire to fasten the trap chain to an object, but do not use it as an extension. It could easily break. -- Hal
