We have a new feature here. You can now upload your photos directly to the site. Use this icon on the posting screen:

The instructions are fairly straight forward.
This should make life a little easier for our members.

I don't know how to get around that. It must be a high resolution photo. There has to be a limit on this, or the server space would quickly fill with photos. -- Hal

This is the picture I tried to post. Here is the picture using photobucket. That's Mom's back yard.

I posted basically the same picture on facebook the other day, it's very simple. It would be nice if we could post pictures here as easily.

Wonder if that picture would go, if I'd crop it to half it's size? Maybe 1/3 ?

This is kind of hard to explain but I'll try.

The "size" of these photos has nothing to do with the physical dimensions. The size is determined by the number of "dots" that make up the photo. The more dots, the higher the resolution. That means you could blow the photo up really big, and still have it be clear. A high resolution photo might be well in excess of 600 dots per inch. (pixels in computer terms)

Here's the rub. The highest resolution a computer screen can display is about 96 dots per inch. Anything above that is waste.

Photo bucket has reduced the resolution of your photo. The limit here is 2,194,304. The photo above is 174,515. Rather than crop the photo, just reduce the resolution.
