This is the first year trying for Pine Marten for me. Question: Coyote season opens October 25th, and I will be setting for them, in the same area as the Marten sets will be--However---Marten season doesn't open until November 1st---so, about 7 days after Coyote season starts. I already have my Marten boxes, on trees, out in the woods. Should I prebait and prelure the Marten boxes, when setting for Coyotes---or wait until opening day of Marten season to bait/lure the boxes? As I am not knowledgeable with Marten and don't know about their home range, I don't know if prebaiting/lureing is good or bad!

Why give out free sample sniffs? Much of a marten checking out a box is curiousity, kill him the first time he sticks his head in there.

I would not lure but baiting doesn't hurt.
