No it should not when used correctly.

I see no reason to choke down trapped animals when other methods are available and can be executed properly

I tried a noose pole for dispatch on a coyote once. I don't know who was more exhausted at the end of the trial, me or the coyote.

The method is frighteningly effective on bobcats though.
