I have only been trapping a week had some interest but nothing yet. What are some tried and true lures and baits, I'm using gusto predator lure and caverns terminators bait. But I'm having more interest in fox urine alone.
The area I'm targeting mostly is a huge sawdust pile, surrounded by 50 yds of sawdust. It is a fox and coyote super highway. You experienced trapping would be killing em. You can see them chasing mice in the snow. I put a blind set over a log slab bridge and two traps at a scent post that i cabled to the post. My main issue is securing traps,it's all sawdust so i have been cabling to stumps. I'm using borrowed old # 2 dukes, if i do catch one i hope they hold. I had one step between my pan and jaw. Will this cold weather help or hurt. I see tons of fox and coyote sign everyday. Had a coyote circle dirt hole never commit. I know its only been a week, but I'm so excited to check my line everyday im awake at 3 in the morning, waiting. lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How much snow is to much we have 5" we are predicted to get lake effect 6-9" more, but temps will stay well below freezing so it should stay powder.

I know these are a good price, has anyone used them. I did see a made in China stamp which is somewhat of a deterrent. But they are cheap and my wife will kill me if i spend a hundreds on traps, given my fox and coyote catches of 0, lol

Those traps look okay to me, although I have not used them. If they are new, not many folks have.

Make sure your traps are not frozen down.

Sawdust sponges up moisture. It could be frozen and not allowing the trap to fire.

If your traps aren't frozen down. Then...

Patience.

Atta boy!!!

Nose to tail doesn't mean squat. Weigh it.
