Each year our DNR and the Wis Conservation Congress holds a 'Fish and Wildlife'public hearing in each county in the State to get the public's input on a variety of questions. Prior to the actual meeting, elections are held to appoint delegates to the congress. These delegates work with the Departments to insure our natural resources remain in tact for us and for future generations. Working against us sportsmen, and similar to the 'antis' movement, there are members of a so called Green Party, bent on assuming control of delegations for the congress. Last year they managed to get two women elected to the congress. They did it by soliciting students from the area college, which are then labeled residents of our county, to vote for them. They lured them to the meeting by having a huge number of pizzas delivered to the meeting, and handing them out for free. It was a giant pizza party in return for their votes. This year there are again women from the green party ready to take control of the congress. This year, however, those in charge of this meeting have learned they did not know about certain rules for college students which may have prevented the students from voting last year. So tonight, hopefully, these unknown rules will be applied, and the pizza party scheme to attract votes will backfire. I'll let you know how things went. Good luck to us.

Frank.

Well, the meeting last night was held on schedule. The pizza didn't show up. The green party 'party' didn't occur. The green party voters were short in number, and the proper candidates were voted in to take a seat on the committee. The world is good in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Amen.

Frank.

It's a lot of work showing up for something you don't really care about!

Glad things worked out for the best interest of the environment.

Good to hear you got the proper people on the committee.
Might have been difficult to get green delegate candidates to step forward. Once it was determined there was actual work involved

Oh, they were ready to work. Had three candidates. One was a middle aged white woman with a top knot that looked like four or five donuts stacked up. She read a convoluted two page statement on how she was qualified and what she intends to do. One of her comments went something like; "Conservation is for everyone. When I look around this evening I see a huge room full of white people, mostly hunters. I'm gonna work on changing that!" HUH??? The audience was kind enough not to boo her, but there was an audible groan. The other two candidates were just as bad. Yeah, we kept the ding-dongs at bay. This time. God help us in the future. Hey, see y'all in Marshfield for the FTA convention, then in Escanabe for the NTA convention, then back again in Marshfield for the WTA convention.
