Always fun to catch a fisher. Congratulations! Foot hold or body grip?

PA fisher so it would have to be foothold. No body grips on land in PA.

Was a foothold on a log crossing. He was crossing that log every 7 to 10 days. He was doing the same last year.

And that is why knowing your trapline and paying attention is important!

No game cams,we had snow early and I watched for his tracks again this yr. Last yr we had snow 2 weeks before season and pretty much until March and he was doing the same thing.

I ride around in the winter months and look for fisher sign. When i find a crossing i log it down and keep watch of these through the winter. Males tend to take longer to make there rounds than do females. Also females may have 1 or 2 young with her. The following fall i set on these runs and collect the bounty. Here in Maine we can't use a body grip unless it is in an Linx exclusion device. So I have gone back to foot holds on the ground. I usually use a #2 victor coil spring. This is a little over kill but if a bobcat comes along I want to be able to get his foot in the trap.
rum3002576 good catch. Nice looking Fisher.
