I put up another camera yesterday, it's watching this little spring. We'll have a lot of action on this camera.

The camera is in the yellow box. It's watching downhill pretty much. Twenty some years ago this property was timbered. While they had their dozers and equipment up there, Dad had them make a little pond. It was as wide as the dozer blade and about 30 feet long, with the water 2 feet deep or so. Crystal clear water, pretty little pond. Back when I was a kid, Dad my brother and I would carry a grubbing hoe up there and take turns and clean out a little tub sized hole, where critters could drink.

During dry times, that is one of the best hunting spots on the mountain. The last picture of the 4-point, he walked across the road in front of me Friday. Had trouble finding the right picture, not sure what the other 2 pictures are yet. We'll find out.

Not a very good picture, but that's a civet in front of the coon.

Youngest grandcub (14) took his first deer in a special youth hunt. Set up a trail cam where we field dressed the deer. Here's where the gut pile wound up.

For those who are overly scent concerned, my pics above of the yote getting breakfast were taken the morning after we walked all over that field dressing site. Three of us. I think my son even crushed out a smoke during that time. So check this out, from the night time after the morning yote.

Congratulations to the young man on his first deer. Good job to everyone involved, very nice! Let's see the proud family picture.

Frank, just looking at that buck, he'd make 2 of our deer. How much would you guess him, live weight?

Lots of fighting going on.

That buckzilla just showed up. I'm thinking in the 200#s. Going to camp later this week. Will check out the trail cams. But he's not the only big thing up there. Check out this guy headed for the salt lick.

This guy has to go in the 500s.

Looks like it is a nice bear. It's hard to judge stuff like that, looks like it does have a big head and neck.

Checked the camera at Wardney's illegal salt lick again today. Seems to be 3 or 4, maybe 5 bucks coming in. I just noticed a week or so ago, there is a deer scrape under the cedar tree limbs, behind the salt lick. It's under the brush you can see directly behind the stump, that's another 30 or so feet away from the camera.

Notice how small the salt block is now, it's been there for months and months.
