Saw bear tracks on the snow yesterday. Had close to 20 marten boxes smashed by bears this season. It is a new record.

Well, I checked the 3 mountain cameras again yesterday. That was the first check of the camera watching the spring. Bear have already messed with it, it broke one of the little belt loop things where the strap goes. It was hanging there sideways, and hadn't even got a deer picture yet. I put it back about the same as it was, there's just not a good place or good tree where I could put it up higher.

I checked the pictures again, I do have a picture of the culprit or it's foot anyway. The camera is still working, notice the squirrel bottom right corner. Also have a couple of deer pictures on this camera.

Well, I checked the 3 mountain cameras again yesterday. Bear messed with my Spring camera again, I moved it to another tree and it's mounted a little bit higher. We'll see what happens. Did see a decent buck cross the hollow above the spring yesterday. The dog seen it first, no trouble seeing it's horns and it was up there 125 yards or better. I was messing with the camera, by the time I got my rifle I only got to scope him over a few seconds. He looked pretty good, he's got at least 3 points on each side. Season starts Monday, 11/25/19.

Also moved Camera #3, trees fell across the main trail and the critters have changed their travels.

Well, I checked the Upper Salt Lick camera today. It's over on the next ridge from my buddy Moe's house, looks like we've got 2 spike bucks and this one. 4-point, maybe 6, not sure?

Moe has a 100 yard shooting range just over the hill from his house, so I asked him this morning if it'd be ok if I checked the zero on my rifles. Seems like everything is good to go, didn't need to make any adjustments. Our rifle buck season starts Monday, I was only at the range for a little bit. I like to shoot anyway. I'll remind you guys to go check your guns before you head out hunting.

Well, I checked the camera watching Wardney's somewhat illegal salt lick today. The camera is averaging 10 or so pictures per day.

We also have a couple of smaller bucks on this camera. But notice the body size difference, the bigger one is just older, in my opinion. It's nothing like the Buckzilla deer from Wisconsin, but it's a good sized deer for this area.

Lots of fighting going on.

Here are a couple of pictures I took with my handheld camera. I guess so far, I've scoped over at least 5 different bucks, could have been as many as 8, not sure. I did see 3 bucks together, last Tuesday, I think? I watched 2 of them butt heads for a minute or so.

Vertical picture. Chris killed this bear in Spring Hollow, the first day of season. Maybe the same bear that's been messing with my camera?

Here's a picture from the Spring Camera.

Here's something you don't see everyday, in the daylight. A flying squirrel.

That is indeed unusual.
