Morning, I am presently trapping beaver out of state and I have no options for drying the castor sacks. I do have a freezer with me. I am going to have to freeze them 'wet'. What is the proper way to do that? All in one container or frozen individually (laid out on a cookie sheet & then each in a baggie)? Also, (other than for personal use) do torn castor sacks have any commercial value? I've been skinning on the tail gate in the rain using artificial light for the last two days & have torn about 20% of the castor sacks.

Just throw them into a freezer bag. You can add to the bag as you catch more. When you have the time/desire to dry them, just take them out of the freezer and thaw. They don't freeze really solid and will thaw out in just a few hours, depending on the temperature where you are thawing them out.

I like to freeze them all and when thawed I can dry them more uniformly all at once. I did last seasons catch in March and it is a pleasant spring smell in the shed when the fur is gone.
