The same picture as above, expanded a little bit. One thing I did notice, the deer are eating the little pine trees at the left of the picture. There's not much to eat on the mountain.

I checked the Upper and Lower salt lick cameras on March 1. Between the 2 cameras, we had right at 800 pictures. I'm going to guess there are 10 squirrel pictures for every deer picture. The last picture of a buck deer with antlers, was dated January 17th, it's posted it the other day. The picture of 2 deer, one is a spike and the other one is a 7 or maybe 8-pointer?

Talked to the mailman, he seen 3 does and 2 buck deer on yesterday's run. The 5 deer were together, and less than a mile from the lower salt lick camera. Maybe the buck above?

For the last few weeks, the mailman hasn't been seeing anything. I'm getting the same report from the school bus driver on that same route.

Well, Moe stopped by this evening so we went up and checked on the King's place, Wardney's salt lick camera. In 20 days, we had 497 pictures, not a single deer picture during daylight. We still have at least 3 buck deer with their antlers. The deer seem to be healthy and in good shape, we've had a very mild "winter".

I've been hearing rumors of turkeys gobbling now.

Well, I checked the 3 mountain cameras yesterday, had a total of 500 plus pictures. I hadn't checked the camera at the spring since Christmas day, so almost 3 months for it. I carried my grubbin hoe up and scratched out 2 little puddles for the game. Seems the picture re-sizer thing isn't working for me now, I'll try to post more pics later.

I have a few bear pictures, I'll show you later.

I do have 3 consecutive pictures from the spring camera, they're crappy night time pictures, so I'll try to explain them. The first picture is a deer standing out maybe 15 feet from the spring, ears up, very alert. About 8 minutes later I have a picture of the deer's butt, looks like it's just bolted, starting to run hard. A minute later, there is a bobcat hunkered down, coming down the log.

I checked the Upper and Lower salt lick cameras yesterday. I had a picture of a spike buck, the picture was dated March 8th. Otherwise not much action on the cameras, lots of squirrel pictures. Seems like several fawn deer hanging together, without any adult does.

Well, I checked the camera at Wardney's salt lick today. Looks like the antlers will hang on until the new ones push them off. As well as I can tell there are 4 bucks in the bunch, 2 with antlers and the other 2 have lost their horns. I think.
