Did an over nighter up at camp. Got up into the lower 80's, just a little humid, and not much breeze. Stayed in camp working on 'camp stuff' to include laying under the RV repairing a broken wire. But here's the question- where are all the bugs? Seriously, no skeeters, no flies, no wasps, no gnats, no nothing! And not that I'm complaining. Usually I've got a cloud of gnats like an astronaut helmet around me. What's going on?? And actually it's not bad here on the home front. What we have here though are earwigs. Geez, you can't pick up anything from the ground without stirring up a dozen of them creepy things. They're even up in the mailbox! Apocalypses??

Frank.

It is less buggy here, too. However, it is still buggy! The dog's ears are still getting chewed.

I'm not complaining. I think the dry spring and low snow winter is the cause.

It seems we've had less mosquitos here too. I try to make sure I don't have anything with water sitting around. My daughter lives about a mile from here, over near the river and the bugs have been eating her up.

One of her neighbors does a little mechanic work on the side, I'm sure he's got a couple old car tires laying out back, that's probably where they're coming from.

Last evening I was out metal detecting and in that one area some kind of bugs were really working on my legs. I haven't used any bug spray so far this summer, but looks like I'm going to need to start.
