Several years ago, in 2018 to be exact, we had a lively discussion about fruit cakes and their merit to society. You know, good for a boat anchor, good for a door stop, etc. This year I found the same type of
fruit cakes as I bought back then. I bought a couple and went to put them into the fridge, when low and behold, I found two of the cakes I bought back then! Same size, same one pound weight, and....same price!! With a sharp knife I sliced off a couple of pieces from the old stuff. I must admit the knife was met with some resistance, but I've been consuming the old stuff for a couple of days now, and have no ill repercussions. Yes it has lost a little of it's original taste, but what would you expect after spending the last seven years in a dark cold fridge?

Most of my grandkids are younger than that fruit cake.

I don't want to know how old the ketchup is .....

Well the soil finally got warm enough to plant some tomato and cucumber plants in my garden. I'll toss in some different kinds of seeds also after our storms pass tonight. But now, my driveway is covered with maple tree whirly-birds. Can if just stick some in a pot, will they germinate, or is this the kind of seed that needs to freeze first? Sorry, ain't much of a farmer.

Frank.

Yes they'll germinate. Just make sure you throw plenty of them in the pot. The germination rate may not be very high. If more than one comes up, you can always pull the rest -- Hal
