Red squirrels don't prime up around here until November.

A BG in front of a wood cubby will take them with ease. Peanut butter on a rat trap is more selective.

Does anyone know what red sqrl. did for an average in the market? It went up 100%, but that could be an increase over a penny!

they sell about $1-2 US , good year or bad.

But wait for end of November - Indiana is further south than Canada and they only prime in mid-November here!

The body grip is not a good trap for red squirrels. The rat trap is okay but I would bait with beaver meat or suet rather than peanut butter. You will still get non target catches in the rat trap.
The best way is to snare them on running poles around their caches. Use Williams stainless steel wire and set multiple loops on each pole. The rule is a 2 finger loop, 2 fingers off the pole.
Use a locking jam knot and don't lean the pole so the squirrel can climb back up.
I know trappers that take over 3000 squirrels a year by this method.

what about them small live traps? In NY we aint supposed to trap greys-protected, only hunt-but the reds are fair game all year long. That way u could release the grays. sounds pretty crazy huh! what would u use as a bait-never heard of using beaver meat.

I have a few red squirrel boards that I have never used before, So if I were to catch a few how are they boarded? Case in or case out?

for squirrels and weasels FHA states "Place pelt fur down on board...". so in other words fur in.

Beaver meat works well. But it attracts everything!
