Does blood from a dispatched furbearer deter a canine's approach to a re-make set?

No. You just don't want it on your trap - if possible. The reason is that the canid could focus on the trap instead of of scent you placed.

As Musher said, the greatest concern with blood at a remake is keeping it off your trap and out of your trap bed. Canines will sometimes dig for blood. By the same token, some canines, especially coyotes, won't work a remake set -- period. It is good to have a fresh, clean set nearby.

Endeavor to persevere.
