Cotton in cool weather. Rubber palmed cotton in cold weather(Watson Atlas Thermafit) to be exact.

Rubber coated when handling traps and equipment. bare hand when handling lures and bate. I have tryed bare handed all the way It worked until I got bate or lure on my hands then on to the traps.

I use glove to set traps and then lure bare. The types of gloves used are often a personal choice. The gloves I use are cotton, or canvas, or leather, or rubber, or gardening gloves, or surgical, or ...

Harbor Freight sells some white knit gloves that fit either hand. Not having to pair them up saves time. They run sales on them often and you can get them for 2.39 for six pairs. Best gloves I've used. I die them gray so I don't flash white during deer season.

dont wear them unless its to keep my hands from getting muddy or to keep them warm. with the exception of latex gloves; i'll put on disposable latex gloves for luring.

I wear a rubber glove for making the set and bare hands for lure and bait.

Thanks for the replies. I had been using rubber for sets but I wasn't sure about if there could be a difference between rubber and say, leather.

I usually use vinyl or latex for handeling lures and bait.

I might try going bare handed, but I dont want to contaminate my traps and cause digging.

I usually wear cotton gloves, while setting my dirt traps. main reason is to keep my hands from getting filthy, cut/scratched, etc. chances are i'll need to be at work in an hour or less, from the time i get back off the line. as far as using lure, i always take my glove off.
