I have some cable that I wanted to make into stakes..I was going to order the berkshier ends..I am not really sure of the cable size..but what do you guys use???? I have a pile of this stuff that was given to me so I would like to put it to use..If it turns out that it maybe to small can it be doubled up to give it more strength???..The guy has cut it into many pices that range from 15' TO 20"

I use 3/32. I believe 1/8 would work too.

If I were you, I would hook one end onto something solid and jerk on it really hard and see how it holds up. You are probably stronger than a fox or a coyote.

Please don't use 1/16" for cable stakes, that is just asking for trouble. I know you would like to utilize the cable, but it's just not worth the risk. That cable is going to be especially fragile when it starts to rust.

I can't, in good conscience, recommend anything less that 3/32" for cable stakes.
